Rain or shine, the annual St. Vincent –YMCA Kidz Marathon at Anderson University will be held Saturday, May 19. This free event for children through eighth grade promotes health, fitness and good lifestyle choices. In the weeks preceding the run, children run or walk to complete all but the last mile of a marathon.
On May 19, the children will gather at Anderson University to complete the last mile together and celebrate with activities, music, prizes and fun. Registration check-in begins at 9:15 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m. in front of the Kardatzke Wellness Center on University Boulevard. This year, the after-race activities will be held inside the Kardatzke Wellness Center. A variety of organizations from throughout Madison County will provide fun and informational demonstrations and activities designed to encourage the children to adopt lifestyles focused on good health, fun and education.
Register online or pick up a registration form at the Anderson Family YMCA or St. Vincent Anderson Regional Information Desk. Registrations must be completed by May 1 to receive an event t-shirt. For additional questions, contact Greg Beck, (YMCA Sr. Program Director) at Gbeck@ymcamadco.org.
